Fit Test #4

This past Saturday I finished week 6 of Insanity (keep in mind that for whatever reason they don’t count the recovery week as a week, so I’ve really been at it for 7 weeks now!). Yesterday I decided to go ahead and do my 4th fit test, because I didn’t think I’d feel like doing 2 workouts today, that’s a lot for a Monday!! I saw improvements in just about every exercise! Also, this was the first week I was able to do push-up jacks, the previous weeks I just did “girl push ups”, which is why I put the ** beside of those numbers. Now, don’t get me wrong….I’m not able to do a full push-up jack, but I’m VERY close to the real thing. Feeling very proud of myself and stronger each day. Continue reading

Finally, the scale is going in the right direction!!!

I didn’t even bother weighing myself last Friday (Fourth of July — an American holiday) because we had company in town and I was basically eating junk and drinking alcohol EVERYDAY, so I didn’t even want to know. But I’ve stayed on track this week (for the most part), and this morning I was down 0.8 lbs since my last weigh in (6/27). I plan to do my measurements too sometime this week to see how those are shaping up, I’ll keep you posted. Super excited to see the scale finally moving in the right direction….now, to keep it going!!  Continue reading

Time to get back on track

I got to meet my new niece (3 weeks old), we went white water rafting, had a party for the holiday, and went to a wave pool…..we had so much fun, I was so sad to see everyone go. Continue reading

I called my family doctor to make an appointment and they said they could squeeze me in this afternoon. First I told the doctor about my constipation/stomach issues, then I told her about my weight loss (or lack there of) journey and how frustrated I was! She asked me a million questions, felt around on my stomach and back….then told me that she wanted me to try a prescription called Amitiza for my bowels. It’s prescribed for IBS with constipation (SEE I KNEW I HAD IBS!!!).

Weekly weigh-in…beyond frustrated

garfield-on-the-scaleSo I weighed in this morning and I’m up 1.2 lbs from last week. I’m seriously so frustrated with this. Other than last Saturday when I had a few glasses of wine, piece of cheesecake, and tiny sliver of lasagna I’ve been spot on counting my calories this week….and haven’t missed ONE SINGLE workout! Recovery Week Recap

This past week was my “recovery week” before starting month 2 of insanity. Let me be the first to say that it was definitely “easier” than my normal workouts, but not the “recovery” I had in mind. I had to do the same workout every day for 5 days, instead of the usual routine of a different workout every day. I definitely feel “recovered”, but I’m scared for month 2……which starts TONIGHT!!! Weigh in Friday

weigh-less-on-FridayTGIF, am I right?!?! It has been a LONG week!! Well, as promised I weight myself this morning and it wasn’t so pretty……I’m up 0.8 lbs from the last time I weighed myself which was 6/9 (only 2 lbs down since I started Insanity). I know what needs to change though, and I’m okay with it. I’ve been killing it with my workouts, but my diet….not so much. I’ve decided to switch to shakes for breakfast and dinner….and have a “normal” lunch, which still will keep me within my calorie range for the day, and still allow me to eat some of the things I like. Insanity: Week 4

week4I’m really starting to get into a nice routine with my insanity workouts this week (although I opted for extra sleep this morning instead of working out, I’ll just get to it when I get home from work today)! I woke up early and did all of my workouts (except for Wednesday’s & Thursday’s) before work, which worked out so nicely with my schedule! On Wednesday I decided to sleep in, but was going to work out after work. Well…I came home to find we had no power (we had really bad thunderstorms that day). Instead of making an excuse I called my friend (next town over) and asked to use their power to do my workout…..they weren’t even home. I just went to her house, worked out, took a shower, then headed back home. Super proud of myself for not letting the power outage hold me back!!! Continue reading

Insanity: Week 3

week3I’m not going to lie, Monday & Tuesday of this week I found it so hard to get back into eating more healthy and working out. Monday I wasn’t planning to workout at all, but my husband suggested I do it because he knew how much better it would make me feel, and he was right. I never regret a workout, it’s just hard to get up and moving sometimes. It’s so easy to get home from work, put on comfy clothes, and sloth…..but I always feel so much better when I workout. I feel like I sleep better, have more energy, and just feel good about myself….plus I get to eat more food on the days I workout, if I choose to. Continue reading

Insanity Fit Test #2

Yesterday was my husband’s birthday. Instead of going out to dinner he wanted to grill burgers at the house. I went to the grocery store after work, got home and made dinner. We had cheeseburgers with a side spinach salad (which kept me within my calorie goal for the day)…it was delicious!!
